Join us this August 15th and 16th for our fourth annual summer writers retreat! This two day event includes meals, views, wifi, community and private writing space, and all the tea and coffee you can drink.

Additional Friday overnight (August 14th) option available as an add on during registration.

About the location:

Set on 12 acres, Dumas Bay Centre offers a setting that embraces nature and beauty. Its situated in a spectacular natural setting, on a bluff overlooking Puget Sound with an unimpeded view of the majestic Olympic Mountains, and sustains many types of birds and wildlife.​

​

Pathways meander through areas of tall pines and lush moss. An outdoor sculpture garden contains several wonderful installations, including a carved tree showcasing active wildlife from our region and a large metallic salmon.​

Registration options: Non-Overnight or Overnight

Either option includes both days, both lunches, and the dinner on Saturday. Overnight registrations include an additional Sunday morning breakfast. Additional Friday overnight option available as an add on during registration includes Saturday morning breakfast (NOTE: Friday night dinner is not provided at the location).

Option 1: $165 for Non-Overnight

Option 2: $305 for Saturday Overnight

Option 3: $435 for Saturday Overnight + Friday Night Add on

 

NOTE: Once registration has been paid for, no refunds will be available for this event due to contract negotiations with Dumas Bay Centre. However registration can be transferred within the ECRW member community.

 

Room information:

Room includes 1 bed, 1 desk, and a private toilet and sink (½ bath). There are several shared shower rooms with closeable curtains on campus, and one fully private non ADA shower room, along with two private ADA full bathrooms that may be used if the ADA rooms are not in use.

 

ADA compliant rooms (3 ea) include 1 bed and 1 desk. The ADA compliant bathrooms (2 ea) are located near the ADA rooms and include a shower. Please note, Dumas Bay has suggested that in some cases a non-ADA room may be a better choice for any special needs due to the toilet and sink being located in the room. ADA compliance is for wheelchair use.

Check-in/out:

Friday and Saturday check-in isn’t until 3pm. Luggage can be stored in cars or, on Saturday if there is room, within the writing retreat conference room.  

Sunday check-out is at 11am. Luggage can be stored in cars or if there is room, within the writing retreat conference room.  

 

Parking:

Parking may be limited due to additional events on campus. Carpooling is suggested whenever possible. No additional charges for parking.

 

Food:

Catering is provided by K Catering. Meals may be changed from what is listed bellow at the discretion of the facilities catering team, but dietary restrictions will always be taken into account.

Small snacks may be brought onsite for any additional individual meal needs. These must be kept in individual rooms or out of site when not being consumed.

While Dumas Bay attempts to meet allergy restrictions and food preferences, there still is the possibility of cross contamination.
